Velcro lock in bottom is not enough to keep dog inFeb 01, 2013
[[VIDEOID:mo8F3HWAJGRVFW]]I really liked this item. I think it is really spacious, cute, and safe enough for our little 6pound puppy. The problem - in less than one day the dog figured out that the velcro that is used to keep the bottom is place can be removed.
I placed the dog back in, left the camera unattended...and the rest is in the video...
The workaround....remove the bottom and turn the whole thing around so the screen on top (that actually has a zipper) becomes the bottom....

Dog playpen for my 20lb pugDec 16, 2013
By M. W. Dompier
I researched pen options for some time - and went back and forth between this pen and one made of plastic gates. I was hesitant to purchase this due to the reviews about stability and the Velcro floors. However, I must say, I am very pleased with this purchase. The fact that this is 45" in diameter provides #benthepug plenty of room. I have his bed, food dish and water dish inside and he still has plenty of space to move around. If you're not sure on the space where this will go, I would highly recommend getting out a tape measure to map out just how big 45" around is going to be.
The pen has two zippered doors that can be Velcroed open to allow access in and out. Additionally, the pen includes a zippered ceiling (which I have not used, so I cannot speak to the effectiveness). The mesh walls are great as it allows him to be around the action without being underfoot. A bonus that I was pleasantly surprised by are the pockets outside of the pen where I store a leash and a couple of miscellaneous items. Another bonus: the included carrying case. Finally, there are ground stakes included as well as loops on the pen itself if you were to attach it outside (since this is only used inside, I can't speak to the effectiveness of those, either).
Overall, I cannot say enough good things about this pen. I haven't had any issues with stability or the Velcro floor. In fact, I actually really like the floor as it allows for easy removal and cleaning. I know that #benthepug is much happier being where the action is versus in the basement!

Great for older dogs with dementia issues.Nov 08, 2014
By Debbie J. Krause
I got this for my 10 year old rescue who has developed cognitive disorder. He gets confused and also ruined a dining room rug using it for a potty stop. He gets panicked but also doesn't like the confinement of his crate. I got this to save the house when we leave him and also so he has a safe place. He has a huge bed in it and likes sleeping in it during the day. If we go away there is still room for a water bowl and potty pad if need be. He feels safe and comfy in it.

Puppy playpen Great for puppies weighing less than 15lbs.Jun 25, 2010
By Nikki P.
This puppy playpen is great for any puppies less than 15 lbs. I have a 7 month old Shih tzu/Bichon mix puppy. He weighs 15lbs and he dominates this playpen. He plays great in it with the doors open and he can roam freely in and out. If I try to contain him in this unit, he will flip it and come out of the bottom of it. The bottom portion is velcro and it would be better if it was zipper like the top. Overall, the structure of this is not very durable. It has a medium sturdiness and once my puppy jumps on the side, he sometimes colapses the unit. I have not set this unit up outside where it may be more sturdy because it comes with stakes and can be secured to the ground. The 45" is very wide and roomy for my puppy and my 4 year old. I almost should have gotten the 43" Playpen. This playpen serves it's intended purpose for me. When staying overnight in a hotel, family and friends, I wanted to be able to contain my puppy while we were sleeping to prevent any possible accidents. As long as my puppy sees people around, he is calm and can be zipped in the playpen without knocking it down.

Love it! Great purchase and value for the money!!!Oct 06, 2010
By Modern Mommy
I ordered this pink and tan play pen to contain my new toy maltese puppy (She will be up to 5 pounds when full grown). I absolutely love it! It is exactly what I expected based on the pictures and information given online. This play pen is extremely cute, but functional and is very portable, light weight, and made of quality materials. It is such a value for the money!!! The carry bag with shoulder strap is absolutely perfect for traveling. My only complaint about the pen would be, the first time you attempt to fold it up, it takes a few trys to figure out exactly how to do it the right way. My advice would be to pay close attention to the included instructions and to make sure the top and bottom flaps (the bottom part where the floor velcrows and the top part where the top zips on) aren't folded and bent up, but instead neatly pulled outward while trying to disassemble otherwise it will not fold up properly. The zippered top is great if you have a jumper or for protecting small pets from birds while in use outside...there is plenty of room inside for a small bed, food/water bowls, and a potty pad...with a little room for play to spare. I love how the floor is removable for cleaning...based on some of the other reviews I've read and my personal observations, it may be possible for a smart larger puppy to figure out how to lift and wiggle under the gaps between the velcrow located under the floor in order to escape...have not experienced this yet, but I believe it would be a quick fix with just a little bit more velcrow applied all the way around instead of every 6 inches or so. Overall, I would highly reccommend this quality play pen to anyone looking for a safe and portable area for a new puppy or small dog to stay when being left unattended or potty trained! :)
